Luke joined Bluefield in 2017 and leads the commercial management of the Bluefield Solar Income Fund’s portfolio, with responsibility for more than 80 utility-scale PV plants, 7 wind farms, and 109 single stick turbines across the UK and beyond: a combined installed capacity of over 750MWp.
The commercial team, acting as an owner/client, takes responsibility for plants following planning approval, managing build programs, commissioning, and then the entire operational life cycle of the assets, or secondary market acquisitions, post-completion. The team’s primary focus is delivering operational assets through the construction phases, then leading a range of activities to protect, optimise and enhance the operating portfolio’s NAV and revenues at every opportunity.
In addition, Luke leads the fund’s power sales, manages internal and external reporting, and investment support activity.
Luke studied at the University of Southampton, graduating with a BSc in Geology & Geography, and completed the commissioning course at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst before joining a combat regiment in the British Army. Following his time in the forces, he worked in the traditional energy industry before making the transition to renewables. Luke joined the board of Solar Energy UK in 2020 and chairs the Utility-scale Commercial Working Group.
